Ikat - a centuries old textile

Last November we visited Stem, a store in Darling Street Balmain.  One of the photographs we took and published on our blog, was of a beautifully upholstered chair in Ikat fabric.

This traditional craft of woven threads is in demand appearing in a range of furnishings available in Australia.  Such is its current impact that VOGUE LIVING January/February 2010 editon features several pages of Ikat products and one of those products is the chair Stem is making available to her forntunate customers!

Receiving a gift with meaning!

Have you ever been given a gift with meaning? 

On a very personal blog by Tab from Broken Hill in far west of NSW, we uncovered a beautiful story.  Given a “What’s Your Story?” boxed set of conversation cards by her husband, Tab decided she could address each question with a personal experience, recording them on her blog.

Tab is using the questions on every card to describe delightful memories and simple but meaningful events from her lifes’ experiences.

Beautifully written, heart warming and a great use of the original version of What’s Your Story?, we’d like to say thanks to Tab.
